First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart! Empty First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart!

Well..it was early in the morning in this gym. A typical time for rikishis to train, really. The entire stable was flooded with all sorts of impacts and rikishi slamming into one another. It was definitely quite the massive stable compared to the typical stable, that was for sure. The ASL wanted to be THE biggest sumo league out there. And having a massive training area to do just that was one way to do that. Well..that, and have a massive budget to get all sorts of rikishi from all across the world.

One of those said rikishi was a young upstart named Brandon. He was already well known thanks to his high school years in sumo. And due to his nickname. But we've already went into detail over that. As soon as he slid the doors open and heard the immediate rush of slams and impacts..he was just smiling at the sound of what was unfolding in front of him. This was far, far bigger and more professional than anything he's ever trained in before.

I mean..for one thing, there was several clay circles around the place. And a lot..and I do mean a LOT of rikishi training on weights, teppo poles, stretching mats..you name it. And this stable probably had it in a wide variety, really. They would look at this young, brown haired guy walking to a changing room in utter confusion. He's not big! Well, not that big for a sumo! Eh..he's used to getting these kinds of glances from people by now. He would just have to prove them wrong. Like always.

Either way. After a few minutes of going into a changing room..Brandon would wander back into the stable wearing a blue and white jacket shirt..thingy. And a blue mawashi strapped onto his frame. He breathed in and out and just smiled at everyone looking at him. Just waving for a bit and nervously chuckling before walking to a nearby mat. And began to stretch right away. Just doing basic stretches and the like. And then beginning to do shikos. Which were slow but definitely had a bit of an impact despite his smaller stature. Keeping his breathing controlled as he would continue this routine for a little bit longer. Maybe someone would want to spar with him? Not sure..but for now, he was definitely going to keep his training up until something happened.

Bataboru meanwhile during all this was just quietly sipping away on some water while this little guy seemed to make a impression on everyone. Theirs no way this guy could be a legitimate rikishi probably had to be one of the staff members with a body that short and thin.
If he was one he'd struggled seeing how he could survive in such a cut throat environment like the ASL. The gym its self was no joke either, just looking around you could see many powerful and respected rikishi slamming into each other! He... Was interested tho... Wasn't often you saw a guy like this in sumo.

So taking the time to casually make his way towards him he started doing Shiko next to him. The thumbs were pretty heavy but it was more or less because of his bulk. He was at least gona size up this guy anyways.

But surprisingly, he didn't really seem to mind! If anything, his breathing was just controlled as he kept on training right beside Bataboru. At least this relatively skinny in comparison guy was taking this seriously as he continued to stomp and squat down.

Heck, he eventually began to get into a stance in front of a teppo pole and unleash quick and heavy palm strikes into it! Sure, it wasn't that strong but it had a lot of heart into it! Which definitely made some kind of impact into the pole. Causing the bars to swing and swish around as he would swish his hips forward with every palm strike. He..definitely had quite refined technique when it came to his training and strikes. Hmm..ok, now you really had to test this guy out. See if he was the real deal and all.

I mean, he didn't seem that winded at all. Actually, he seemed pretty aokay compared  to everyone else there. Like he had plenty more left in the stamina tank. So you COULD definitely put this guy up to the test..

Something was off with this guy... But Bataboru couldn't figure out what wasn't adding up. His Shiko was alright, nothing special but it gets the job done. Bataboru would just move on to stretches as this lightweight moved on to the teppo pole. **BAM! BAM! BAM!** H-He was quick! He couldn't barley keep up with how fast his tsuppari was was! The poll its self shaked from the impact. He turned quite a few heads with his strikes!

I guess this boy wasn't all talk, after all... Bataboru would keep stretching for a solid 10 mins as he just sized up this guy. Not with any destructive intent unlike... Other wrestlers... So he'd test the waters... Getting into one of the training rings he mostly did simple charging exercises, waiting for a partner. Hopefully Brandon but if it he got stuck with someone else it was no skin off his back.

Yeah, no kidding! His Tsuppari strikes were so lightning fast! And with that sheer speed, it resulted in a fairly impressive amount of force. Of course, it was nothing like..that one rikishi..but it was still commendable given his size and supposed lack of that much strength!

But yes. After those ten minutes passed, he would stop and wipe the sweat off of his forehead. And then he would begin to walk over to the ring where Bataboru was at. Stepping into it on the opposite side of it as he would stretch as well for a bit. Before finally speaking up to this decently large rikishi.

"H..hello! Erm.." He looked away for a second and breathed in and out before looking at him again. Rubbing the back of his neck at that. "I'm..I am wanting to spar if you want to! Aha..ha.." Hmm. Yeah, he is definitely a nervous wreck but I mean..something is way off with this guy. Those Tsuppari earlier were no joke.

It seemed like fate was being kind to him today! After quickly finishing off her last sparring partner he was gonna get a chance to get a feel for this new 'rikishi.' "Oh? Ok then..." Getting down into stance babataru was pretty to the point. Could ya blame him tho? He wanted to slam into this guy and see what he was about! What was his special quirk that somehow got him into the ASL to begin with? Those teppo pole strikes did give him some idea, but any idiot could hit a teppo pole fast, the real battle was in the ring with raw skill! Placing his fists into the the clay he waited for Brandon to do the same before charging into him!

First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart! Empty Re: First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart!

Post by JoeyButterSC Sat Mar 28, 2020 8:49 pm

You are not wrong there..anyone could slap a teppo pole silly for crying out loud. But the air felt a bit tense as Brandon went into his usual stance as well. He was looking right at Bataboru. Just looking at how much bigger he was compared to him and doing his best to gauge what he was planning to do. And with how well-built Bataboru was..he was truly going to have to assume correctly or be pushed out of the ring with ease. So his inner thoughts began to play out as he was slowly pushing his fists into the clay.

"Alright..how is he going to attack? This guy truly seems like he is rooted in the basics of sumo...high probability of him charging with a standard charge. He could try to mix up but it does not seem that likely right now..I don't know 100% so I'll have to see how this plays out."

And before he would put his second fist into the clay to start the sparring match between these two..he would do something Bataboru would be surprised by. Big time. He slid back a step or two intentionally! And then he placed both fists into the clay. Watching Bataboru rush at him with that heavy, fierce charge..and waiting for his chance. He would appear like he was slow on the uptake before suddenly hopping over Bataboru altogether! He was actually a tiny bit taller than Bataboru so this was feasible!

And with him being utterly stunned by that sheer amount of movement on display right there..Kibo would turn to face Bataboru from behind and rush right in! Going in low as he grabbed onto Bataboru's mawashi from behind with both hands and attempted to use the momentum from the opening charge to push him out!

He was taking a step back? What kind of wrestler was stupid enough to do that? Whatever... If he wanted to lose then that just made it that much easier for him. Hell this guy looked like was trying to solve a god damn rocket science problem or something with how long it took him to get ready... And it seemed it wasn't for nothing... Suddenly vanished from view as Bataboru charged as Brandon. "Wha?.." Halting to a stop he looked as both his sides expecting attack from their, and then he felt coming grab the back of his mawashi...

He was behind him!? How in the hell did that work out!? Absolutely stunned on what just happened Bataboru was easily pushed to the hay bails! Moving along the edge he tried getting out of this situation as best he could! Brandon meanwhile was certainly proving why he belonged in the ASL to everyone right now tho!

And if anything, it did not seem like he took that long to start. But woo boy..in an instant, Brandon went from being a laughing stock to you to being actually scary! Or at least..scary to some extent!

And unlike a certain other rikishi..well, he was not done just yet. At all! He was keeping the pressure on by pushing as hard as he could..and then attempting to switch gears by pulling up on his mawashi! Leaning back as he was trying something a bit risky..but it made sense given Bataboru was trying to escape right now! He was going to attempt to use that to his advantage to just hoist Bataboru off of the hay-bales! If that worked..he would attempt to toss him down onto the clay with the momentum he gained from that! A risky as hell move but it fit his style to a T..he had to prove he was not just going to use cowardly tactics to win right now!

Post by GreatForce Sun Mar 29, 2020 10:25 pm

It was like Brandon just stabbed Bataboru with or something! The sheer offence he get from that surprise was just overwhelming even for a big guy like Bataboru. He felt Brandon trying to do something maybe switching to another grip? But it seemed her was busy enough as is just keeping up with Bataboru escape attempt. But for a moment, just a brief moment Bataboru had to stop to take a breath, and that was all it took for Brandon to switch gears on him and attempt his high risk gamble!

Time slowed down as Bataboru pushed him self off the hay bail and directly into Brandon's plan. Hoisted right off them, his massively body was guided down to the clay with all his momentum too! *SLAM!* Bataboru back hit the clay knocking the wind out of him. Laying their he was just trying to process what happened. "*Cough! Cough!* Wha... The fuck just happened?"

The gamble actually paid off! Brandon would just breath heavily in and out and pant a bit as he extended a hand over to help Bataboru back onto his feet. On top of this, he would smile rather softly at him.

"Hah..are you alright? That was uh..haha..quite the heavy slam." That was an understatement. With all of that sheer momentum plus Bataboru's weight..plus Brandon's strength, it all combined into a heavy as hell slam to the ground.

Regardless. After helping Bataboru onto his feet, he would walk back to his side of the ring and squat back down. He was still wanting to go at it! And he didn't even seem the least bit exhausted despite that. He could still go on for several more practice sparring matches and then some!

Just what the hell was this guy!? Bataboru went from charging him from one second to laying on the clay in the next 10 seconds! All from a tiny guy like this? He was honestly confused as looked up at Brandon. His coughing was finally slowing down allowing him to finally accept his hand. "Yea I'm- *cough* Alright... The hell was that?.." It seems Bataboru had severely underestimated this guy like many before him! Finally accepting his hand Bataboru finally stood up as he rolled his shoulders. Seems Brandon was up for more sparring tho, fine by him! He wanted to even this out after getting tossed like that! Getting back to his side of the ring he slapped his face before once against squatting down into stance! Placing both his fists down he'd give Brandon the luxury of starting this one.

Post by JoeyButterSC Wed Apr 15, 2020 1:55 pm

That would not be easy but this time around, Brandon squatted and got into his ready stance at the usual distance you would do between you and your opponent in a sumo match. He glanced at Bataboru with a determined glimmer in his eyes as he placed both fists onto the clay.

This time around, he could not pull what he did. Bataboru was going to fully expect that. So! Instead of dodging on the Tachiai, Brandon would use his speed to dart right into Bataboru! Trying to take him by surprise with how quick he was! Hopefully it would be enough to stun him..if it was, he would begin to unleash quite the rapid and impactful barrage of Tsuppari onto Bataboru's chest and face! Sure they didn't have that much natural power..but the sheer speed and momentum from these were enough to make the difference of a lack of power!

Once against Bataboru charged head on, clashing with Brandon head on. **SLAM!** Their sound of the impact rang out through out the massive training gym. One of many to be heard. Wincing he was blown back by a barrage of palm strikes! The sheer speed of the strikes giving him next to no room to think! But Bataboru wasn't going down that easily and pushed through the barage! Tanking each hit and came his way until he could finaly get a grip on Brandon belt!

If he could get a grip on his belt, Bataboru would pushing him self right ontop of Brandon to halt his strikes and start pulling, pushing and lifting using Brandons belt in order to force him with out of the ring!

Brandon..or well, Kibo in this instance was definitely quick with his strikes but Bataboru has tanked strikes this fierce before! This was nothing really out of his ballpark to defend from. Although it was hard..you did manage to get a solid grip onto his mawashi.

Crap..this was looking bad. It was a really solid grip too! All Brandon could do was just lock up his arms against Bataboru's! And try to press and lock his arms up for leverage! On top of this, he was trying to use his footwork to escape..by dancing on the Tawara for a way to wiggle out of this. He was light so it was easy enough to push Kibo to the edge..getting him past that was going to be the difficult part in this bout.

Aha! Now Bataboru was in control this time! He was easily able to pushed Brandon to edge of the ring! Brandon was able to lock up with Bataboru's arm's last second and just weaken his grip just enough to keep in himself inside the ring! And now once again their bout turned into a dance along the rings hay bails! Kibo's foot work vs Bataboru's raw strength! The both circled the ring over and over again neither able to accomplish their goal! This American was annoying! What kind of sumo was this slippery! The frustration fueled Bataboru's next move as he locked into place and arched his back! Attempting to lift Brandon clean off his feet and into the air! If this worked he's try and drop him right outside the ring!

Post by JoeyButterSC Wed Apr 15, 2020 4:44 pm

And that was the moment Kibo needed right then and there. This would be another huge gamble but he would let go of locking onto Bataboru's arms and began to thrust even more Tsuppari straight into his chest! Right as he was being lifted up as well! He couldn't feel his feet touching the ground but he was not over the ring yet!

Sure, this might not work but he could tell Bataboru was frustrated. So..he was trying to use that to his advantage! He would never expect a weaker rikishi like Kibo to defend with even more Tsuppari like this! Especially when they are so lightning fast and direct!

If that loosened Bataboru's grip on his mawashi and caused him to stumble back..well. Now Kibo was being quite risky in his next move. He would dash right up to Bataboru and connect a double handed grip right onto his mawashi! And begin to attempt to trip and overarm throw Bataboru right onto the clay! Giving it everything he had and then some IF the Tsuppari worked!

And just went Bataboru thought he had him, Kibo does another big ass gamble! *Slap!* Bataboru's head rang as he tanked his slap head on! *Slap! Slap! Slap!* Another Tsuppari attempt against him? When hes in the air? Kibo certain wasn't conventional when it came to his style of sumo! Bataboru tanked each hit rooting him self into place The raw kinetic force keeping from moving forward and finishing the bout! Oh why couldn't this guy just go out easily like every other god dam rikishi! The past training opponents Bataboru had actually treated this stuff like a sparing match, this guy acting like he was in the play off of a basho or something!

"Enough!" Gritting his Teeth Bataboru just jumped outside the ring looking to land on Brandon and possible crush him a little bit on the landing! Just one massive move to finally put this guy out of the ring!

First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart! Empty Re: First step in the ASL! A new start for the hopeful upstart!

Post by JoeyButterSC Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:21 pm

Well hey..Kibo did take every single match of sumo he is in rather seriously. Regardless if it was a sparring match or an actual match! He had to if he wanted to improve further and further in this sport. But he really was not letting you win easily..not at all.

At this point, he didn't really have any moves to get him out of this. As you actually jumped out of the sparring ring completely and kept him locked into your iron grip..the two would fall down onto the outsides of the sparring ring. With all of Bataboru's 452 lb body crashing down on top of Kibo! And keeping him pinned as you were still on top of him after falling on top of him. It looks as though Bataboru won pretty handily right then and there!

But man, that actually hurt. A good bit. With so much momentum and weight crashing on top of his skinnier 280 lb frame, he didn't exactly have the weight to absorb some of the impact. So ALL of the impact came barreling into him all at once! Bataboru would slowly roll off of him and Kibo would just be laying there on his back. Huffing and groaning out as he really gave it his everything right there. "Hah..t-thank you for the..r-really intense sparring match.."

**CRAAAASH!** And just like that both of them landed outside the ring! Kibo absolutely crushed under Bataboru's weight as he really sunk into him! Rolling slowly off Brandon his belly actually and a red imprint of Brandon from how hard he landed! Hell a few rikishi turned their eyes towards Brandon to see if he was even still alive!

"Augh... That stung... You still their?" Bataboru would ask as he slowly got up. Looking down at Brandon he'd extended his hand out to the smaller rikishi as he waited for him to recover. He kind of wanted to peel him off the floor and just help him directly but a real rikishi has the strength to get up them selves after their losses.

After he helped him up Bataboru would go right back to his side of the ring and get back into stance. Despite how brutal both their landings were in sumo their was no breaks!

And this would definitely surprise even Bataboru..but Kibo would slowly stand back onto their own two feet despite all that just happened. "Hah..I'm alright..nnngh..i'm ready to spar more!"

Huh. He would adjust his blue mawashi and walk back to the ring as well. Taking his stance once more and looking right at Bataboru. Ok..if being tricky worked and his own Tsuppari was ineffective against this guy..what could he do? He would have to figure it out as he placed his second fist onto the clay. And their third sparring match would take place.

This time around, Kibo would do an improved version of his previous two Tachiais..by slapping Bataboru in the face before darting to his side and tugging down onto his mawashi with a pretty solid grip! Practically throwing and pulling him down with an underarm throw from an unexpected angle! That is..if he did not see the Tachiai attack coming. If he did, Kibo would be in a lot of trouble!

Wow he actually got up by him self? Kibo was either Kibo was durable or he was just a outright psycho to get up from something like that, as fast as he did! Let alone being ready for some more sparing! Bataboru was actually shocked for a second but he respected this rikishi's commitment! Already he could tell a million different thoughts were running through his head. You could just see em clearly in his eyes. Placing his fist on the clay Bataboru would charge Kibo! *Slap!* A direct palm slap in the face! Stunning him for just a brief moment for him Kibo to slip to his side!

Almost instantly Bataboru's center of gravity was tipped off balance and pulled down! But he wasn't going out this easily! In a sheer display of leg strength ehe rooted him into place and fought tooth and nail to stay upright with his back! Veins poped out from how hard he was straining his muscles! "Not... yet!" His arms mean while tried to wrap around Brandons head and just forcefully drag him back in front of him!

Hmm..so Bataboru will go all in with defending by shifting his momentum down as hard as he could, huh? Okay..Kibo immediately decided to stop pulling for now. At least from the side. He quickly saw Bataboru trying to wrap his thick arms against his head in a headlock..and would do his best to squat down to avoid the attempt.

After this, he would shove into Bataboru's side as a distraction before rapidly dashing to behind Bataboru again! And proceeding to grip both hands onto Bataboru's mawashi from behind..twisting the grip and trying to do a mix of throwing him down and pulling him down! Trying to capitalize on just how hard this rikishi was pushing down with his legs by using it against him!

Bataboru was not used to fighting a rikishi this fast at all! Kibo was just leeps and bounds faster than any rikshi hes faced! No wonder her earned his Shikona "Wave of hope." The hearty's rikshi headlock attempt whiffed as Kibo squatted down to dodge his attack! "Fuck..." Bataboru muttered under his breath bebore Kibo shifted his attack and shoved him sideways!

Bataboru just shifted his struggles to counter this attempt only to fall into Kibo's real attack! With a well crafted throw of twisting and pulling Bataboru was sent crashing down into the clay! Even sliding a bit on the dirt! His own momentum and strengths being used against him! Kibo was good... Really good... The gym was starting to nice too as he made a bigger wrestler like Bataboru look like a paper weight!

I mean..true. But he had to give it his all to plan an attack that would capitalize on his overwhelming weight advantage and all of that added momentum to boot. Regardless of that, Kibo was just beginning to huff and pant as he walked over to Bataboru and extended a hand to help him up.

And given that he's an American rikishi..damn, he is really respectful. After fully connecting that move, he didn't really shove you any harder than needed. Just enough to win the sparring bout and that was it. "Hah..h-hey, are you alright? That was quite the fall y-you took..hah.." And he was groaning a bit since he did have 450 pounds of rikishi collapse on top of him a few minutes ago.
